Phuket elephant Trekking - Khao Sok Nature Tours
Day 1: Phuket- Phang Nga - Khao Sok National Park
We'll pick you up from hotels in Phuket for transfer to Khao Sok. On the way we'll visit Chang cave. You can imagine riding a raft on a river inside a cave? As you travel through Pung Chang, you'll see stalagmites and stalactites that take the shapes and forms of a great Elephants. Our helpful and friendly guides are always there to steady your every step as you explore the cave climbing, bamboo rafting, and canoeing through vast caverns and meandering passageways.
After this fantastic and unique experience, we will transfer you to an elephant's camp. Tropical rural life here in southern Thailand can be seen along the way. On arrival at the elephant's camp, you can admire them, touch them, study them and even feed them with bananas. There is an elephant's breeding conservation project running.
The guide will also tell you about the mahout: the man who takes care of elephants. Trekking on elephant back is a unique experience here in the rainforest. What better way is there to get a bird's eye view of nature? Returning from the jungle with a huge appetite, you'll appreciate the lunch served: variety of Thai dishes (no spicy cooking).
After all these activities, close to nature, it is time to have a hot shower. What better place than in the unique bathroom of your tents or in Khao Sok River Side Resort. Relax and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding jungle covered mountains, 100% real nature. A wide selection of Beer, wines, and spirits are available at the "Resort's club bar or in Jungle Club Bar". Afterwards it's time for dinner in this unique location beside the rainforest. The sounds and atmosphere will make it a memorable experience.

Day 2 : Khao Sok - Chao Lan Lake - Khao Sok
Wake up with the sounds of nature and birds calling from the bushes close to the Resort. When the sun comes up and clears the mist over the mountains and jungle, to the south of Elephant Hills, the gibbons start to make their morning territorial calls that echo down the valley.
Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the Resort for early risers: breakfast at your leisure. The activity planned for today is exploration of a lake in the jungle forest by local boat. The lake is surrounded by Limestone Mountains and cliffs covered in tropical rainforest that rises up from the shore of the lake and disappear into the far distance.
The scenery has been compared to Qualin in China or Halong Bay in Vietnam . Few people know of this lake and even less have visited it. There are over one hundred islands in the lake and it is over 60 km from north to south. In the 70's the area was a hide out for communists and students opposing the military dictatorship.
We will see some of the spectacular sceneries from the boat, have time for a swim and may be able to trek and explore some caves depending on the weather. Please bring swimwear and a towel. A packed lunch will be provided.
After lunch, take a jungle river canoe trip down the Sok River . The canoes are very stable and safe, life jackets are provided as well as a local river guide to paddle the canoe. Drift along the jungle river passing Limestone Mountains and cliffs covered with exotic tropical vegetation. From the canoe you can experience a world that has little changed in thousands of years, some of the last areas of primary rainforest.
In the late afternoon return for dinner and overnight in your luxury tents or in Khao sok River Side Resort where a good night's sleep is assured after all your jungle exploring activities. The bar will be open for people wanting to exchange stories of their day's experiences on the lake. Overnight in Khao Sok . (B, L, D)

Day 3: Khao Sok - Krabi. (B/L/D)
After a good night's rest, lulled to sleep in the back ground symphony of insects and frogs, it's time for a wholesome breakfast before coming face to face with the jungle by exploring it walking. You have seen it from elephant back, from your canoe on the river and even all around you from your boat on the lake but nothing compares to actually walking yourself inside the jungle.
It is not an army survival exercise. There are no prizes for the fastest. Snakes and spiders do not jump out on you. It is just an opportunity to explore the ecology of the rainforest, to see a great variety of exotic plants, tropical hardwood trees with huge roots, orchids, palms, ferns, bamboos, mosses. The varieties are unlimited. Birds such as the hornbill live high up above, gibbon can often be heard calling to their mates, macaques or leaf monkeys may be heard swinging through the branches. Every day is different, but it is truly wonderful to discover the great variety of life forms that co-exists together. This can only be experienced walking. Take it easy, look, learn and listen; only then you too will start to discover some of the secrets of the rainforest.
Weather permitting; lunch will be served in the rainforest cooked in bamboo, a tradition of jungle explorers for centuries past.
Sadly in the afternoon its time to return to Phuket or to have an extension to Ao-Nang Villa in Krabi. Overnight in Krabi. (B, L, D)
Extension Day 4: Discover Krabi
The sightseeing tour of Krabi acquaints us with some major sights of the town. We pass the market that sells a wide array of local goods, before going forward to a rubber plantation. You'll see a demonstration of how rubber is produced and how charcoal is made from old rubber trees.
You'll go on rural roads and dirt trails through small Muslim villages, passing rice fields and oil palm plantations. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll go to a mineral water spring in the forest and explore a cave complex, consisting of several caves at different levels and a large variety of rock formations. Overnight in Krabi. (B, L, D)
Extension Day 5: Krabi - Phuket
After breakfast, take a boat trip to Krabi's popular 'unseen' island such as Poda Island , Tap Island , Chicken Island & lunch at Railey beach. Plus swimming opportunity at Pra-nang Cave Beach : perhaps one of the most beautiful spot in the south, before return to check out from the hotel and transfer to Phuket.
